Our Services
We offer a wide range of services across Wiltshire and Swindon, including advice, guidance, training and social opportunities for people with sight loss.
Wiltshire Sight works together with our partner charity Sight Support to provide integrated services across the West of England. Working together helps us to increase our effectiveness and coverage across the region, and minimise costs.
Information & advice
We believe that sight loss shouldn’t stop people reaching their full potential. Our team of Community Sight Loss Advisors are here to help anyone who is living with, or has been newly diagnosed with sight loss.
Events and Exhibitions
We run events across the West of England to connect people and help them find solutions to the challenges faced when living with sight loss
Social connections
Living with sight loss can be incredibly isolating. Whether you are looking for peer support, want to join a social group or an activity club, or are just looking for someone to talk to, we can help.
Technology
Accessible technology can make a huge difference to the daily life of someone who is visually impaired. Whether you are a complete beginner or a regular user, we can provide support on how to make technology work for you.
Resource centres
Our centres in Bristol, Cheltenham and Devizes are packed with resources to try, from magnification, daily living and mobility aids, through to phones and tablets. Come and see what will work for you.
Children and families
Our family support worker is available for practical or emotional support for families of children with sight loss, and can help you connect with other families in the local area.
Staying Active
A visual impairment should not be a barrier to taking part or enjoying exercise or sport. Whether it is just to keep healthy, get fit or even if you want to compete, there are lots of opportunities for all age groups.
Audio library
If you are finding it difficult to read a printed book, then audio books might be for you. We have an extensive audio library with a wide range of genres, available by post, free of charge to our clients.
Sight loss awareness
We provide training to companies, charities and public sector organisations who are interested in gaining greater knowledge of sight loss, and how best to provide a welcoming and accessible service to people with sight loss.
