Our Virtual Hubs

Our virtual hubs offer a welcoming online space for people affected by sight loss to connect, share experiences, exchange tips, and most importantly, enjoy friendly conversation in a relaxed setting.

For Working Age Adults

This Working Age Adults Virtual Hub is designed for visually impaired individuals aged 25 to 65. Whether you are employed, seeking work, studying, or focusing on other pursuits, this hub provides a supportive environment where you can share experiences, exchange tips, and connect with others who understand the unique challenges and opportunities of this stage of life.

Led by Volunteers

Our hubs are run by dedicated volunteers who ensure you feel right at home. Meet your hosts of this virtual hub, Karen and Tanvir, who will guide the sessions and create a friendly and inclusive atmosphere.

Karen – “Hi, I’m Karen. I work for Sight Support as the Marketing and Communications Officer. I understand how challenging it can be to connect with others when living with sight loss, which is why I’m so excited about this hub. It’s a fantastic opportunity to meet more people and share experiences. I’ve lived with sight loss from a young age, and while it can be challenging, I strongly believe it doesn’t have to stop me from enjoying life to the fullest. I’m really looking forward to meeting you and hearing your stories.”

Tanvir – “Hi all, I’m Tanvir, writer, disabled activist and Research fellow at Bath Spa University and also co-opted Corsham Town Councilor. I have RP and now with my second guide dog, (or, as she likes to be called, research assistant) Mitzie. I’m committed to the fight for inclusion and access for all and in pushing for representation of disabled people in all sectors of our society. Looking forward to meeting you all as part of the Virtual Hub! ”

If you’re unfamiliar with Teams, don’t worry—we’re happy to help you get set up and confident in using it. There’s no need to book each time, and you’re welcome to attend as often or as little as you like—there’s no pressure or obligation.
